As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we are now working with the charity Martineau Gardens – a beautiful therapeutic community garden located just outside of Birmingham city centre. Running a therapeutic horticulture programme for volunteers (many of whom have mental health issues and learning disabilities), the charity also provides work experience placements for young people with special needs as well as environmental education sessions for Birmingham school children on topics surrounding science, nature and conservation.
Commenting on the involvement of Nicholls Brimble Bhol and becoming a corporate partner of Martineau Gardens, Rob Bhol, said: “We strive to promote a strong corporate social responsibility programme and the fantastic work they do at Martineau Gardens strikes a chord with our company ethos and values. Together we are making a difference to individuals who face challenges as well as enlightening a younger audience to the importance of our environment and our responsibilities towards it. We look forward to working alongside Martineau Gardens for many years to come, supporting them with their objectives.”
Sue Roberts, Chair of Martineau Gardens, added: “We are keen to promote awareness of the needs of people with learning disabilities and mental health issues in the community and are delighted that Nicholls Brimble Bhol have recognised the valuable work that we do. This relationship takes us in a new direction as we seek to grow our partnerships with the local business community. Growing support in this way will help us to ensure that we can continue to enhance the health and wellbeing of those in our community who need us the most. We are very much looking forward to having the team at Nicholls Brimble Bhol on board.”
