Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice: raising funds with ‘treecycling’

This New Year, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and John Taylor Hospice is taking the fuss out of recycling your Christmas tree by picking it up on your behalf. Volunteers will collect thousands of old Christmas trees from across the city as part of the Hospices ‘Treecycling’ campaign in exchange for a donation.

On Saturday, January 15th and Sunday, January 16th, 2022, the Hospices will collect trees in South and West Birmingham, North Birmingham, and Solihull. Last year was the most successful yet, with almost 5000 trees booked, nearly 200 volunteers, 90 vans, and more than £106,000 raised!

Your donation will be used entirely to offer skilled palliative and end-of-life care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families throughout Birmingham. Both Birmingham St Mary’s and John Taylor Hospices presently cost £14.8 million to run, with 40 percent of that coming from kind, voluntary donations like yours. Celebrate your Christmas knowing that you’ve made a difference in the lives of local people and their families dealing with a life-threatening illness.

Managing Partner Rob Bhol says, “I know first-hand how important Birmingham St Mary’s is to many families in the region and the wonderful work that they do and so it gives me great pleasure to announce that Nicholls Brimble Bhol Solicitors are delighted to support the Birmingham St Mary’s & John Taylor Hospice Treecycling scheme this year. We are proud to have contributed to this fantastic Initiative by sponsoring the vans carrying out the collections throughout the local community.”
