Need help with an Academic Appeal?
Speak to one of our Expert Education Lawyers.

Please note we do not offer legal aid for Education Law matters

Academic appeals are allowed in specific situations such as when there has been a procedural error, unfair treatment, or other circumstances that have affected your academic assessment. Appeals are not meant for expressing disagreement with academic judgement. See FAQs for common scenarios in which you may consider making an academic appeal.

Institutions usually have established procedures outlining when and how appeals can be made. These procedures must be followed before resorting to other options.

If you are unsure about whether you have grounds for an appeal, seek advice from NBB’s specialist Education Lawyers. The NBB team is able to support you through your university’s internal appeal process to ensure that you are complying with the university’s policies and to advise you on the merits of a referral to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) to maximise the chances of a successful outcome.
